"Crimson Iris Reverie" is a vibrant, expressive acrylic painting that captures the raw beauty and emotional depth of nature. Rendered in an expressionist style, this piece features bold textures and dynamic brushstrokes that bring the magenta irises to life with a sense of movement and intensity.

The irises, with their rich magenta petals, stand out against a background of contrasting colors and swirling patterns, evoking a sense of both harmony and chaos. The use of thick, layered paint creates a tactile quality, inviting viewers to not only see but almost feel the energy and passion infused in the work.
Each petal and leaf is depicted with a sense of urgency and spontaneity, reflecting the artist's emotional connection to the subject. The interplay of light and shadow, coupled with the bold color palette, adds depth and dimension to the composition, making the irises appear almost three-dimensional.
This painting is not just a visual representation of flowers but an exploration of the emotions they can evoke. It invites viewers to experience the beauty and complexity of nature through the lens of expressionism, where every brushstroke is a testament to the artist's creative spirit and emotional resonance.
"Crimson Iris Reverie" is a celebration of color, texture, and the boundless possibilities of the acrylic medium, offering a unique and captivating interpretation of one of nature's most elegant flowers.

ARTIST BIO

My interest in art was piqued while I was a very young child, sitting and watching my father create his artworks, mostly the Australian landscape. While I love the multi-faceted beauty of artistic creativity, my passion lies in the field of decorative art, expressionist and impressionist styles.

With more than thirty-five years’ experience as an artist I have been inspired by many sources including: the decorative arts movement, nature, cultural heritage and impressionism. My art is a celebration of eclectic creativity and expression, and whether it’s a vibrant abstract piece or a serene landscape, every artwork tells a unique story that resonates on a personal level.

While proficient in a variety of mediums my true medium love is acrylic. I always use the most excellent archival quality acrylic paint and mediums in all my artworks to ensure vibrant colors, lasting durability, that truly brings my creative vision to life.

My art has been exhibited and sold in many Sydney cafes and art exhibitions. My Trompe Loell and other artworks have been featured in Hospital wards in Sydney and Hobart, as well as the Decorative Artist magazine, and have garnered appreciation from art enthusiasts and collectors alike. I am dedicated to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and continually evolve and experiment with new techniques and styles.

All my artworks are signed (the year is hidden within the painting) and come with a certificate of authenticity.

Each piece of canvas art is finished on the sides, sealed on the back with protective covering, and ready to hang.
